Any 4th – 8th grade student is welcome to play for our chess team.  We have open enrollment all year.  Forms are also in the front office!

Start date for practice is September 4- All grades practice together.

Parents/Guardians will need to meet their son/daughter at the far left front of the building near the softball field at LCIMS and in front of the school at LCHS.

Practices: Practice is key in chess! During these times, you will learn skills, play games with teammates, and be coached by the LCHS Chess Team.  Practices will alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays- please check the schedule.

A tournament schedule will be provided at the beginning of the school year.  A parent or guardian must be at all tournaments to supervise their child, no exceptions.

Tournaments: Chess is very competitive at tournaments.  The team participates in both individual and team tournaments.  All team members are required to attend tournaments held on Saturdays, at various locations around East TN.
