In response to Covid 19 and in order to maintain consistency with CDC and governmental guidelines for preparation to return to sports activities, Lenoir City Middle athletics department will implement the following guidelines for summer workouts and practices.  These guidelines are intended for any and all activities while on property including indoor and outdoor gatherings. These guidelines include, but not limited to:

 

Coaches:

  1. Must have sign in sheet for each session with temp check. Coaches wear masks while temp checks are administered if desired. 

  2. If player exhibits temp or any other Covid 19 symptoms, he/she will be sent home and guardian contacted immediately. 

  3. Groups cannot exceed 10 during indoor use, multiple sessions will need to be planned for groups larger than 10. Spacing of 6ft to be enforced by coach.

  4. Absolutely no player contact during indoor and/or outdoor sessions.

  5. Individual rehydration units will be provided by player, no team water bottles.

  6. Coaches responsible for team equipment sanitization routine following sessions: team sports equipment etc.

  7. No use of locker rooms of any kind!

  8. Only 1 player allowed in bathrooms when needed.

  9. Coaches will adhere to TSSAA heat index guidelines while outdoors.

  10. Players will be permitted to see trainer if necessary on individual basis only with coach in attendance.  


Players:

  1. Will be permitted to wear face coverings if desired.

  2. Absolutely no siblings, guardians, parents, family members, allowed indoors or on practice fields.

  3. Player pickups to remain in cars in the parking lot.

  4. Player will be responsible to use hand sanitizer or wash hands prior to leaving. 

  5. Players will not be permitted to access any portion of school property other than practice facilities:

    1. Gym, football/soccer fields, track, & softball/baseball field.

  6. Non-contact reinforcements are encouraged from coaches and players: words of encouragement, instead of fist bumps and/or high fives etc. 

 

These guidelines are subject to change as this situation is extremely fluid and with the CDC updates Coaches are responsible for maintaining and updating these during practices/workouts pending any changes.
